Pastors Emmanuel and Deborah Ighodaro serve together as the Senior Pastors of RCCG Open Heavens Chapel Edmonton, bringing a shared passion for God, people, and the transformation of families and communities.
Pastor Emmanuel is a man wholly devoted to the Lord Jesus Christ. He loves God's people deeply and seeks God's face earnestly for an atmosphere of love, unity, and the manifest Kingdom of God in Edmonton. His ministry is marked by fervent prayer, uncompromising biblical teaching, and a genuine heart for the lost and the found alike.
Pastor Deborah is a woman of prayer, purpose, and compassion. A mental health practitioner with years of experience in community mental health treatment with children and adults, she brings a rare combination of spiritual depth and practical wisdom to her ministry. She is passionate about prayer, children, women's mental health, and the strengthening of families.
Together, the Senior Pastors are building a church where every person, regardless of background, season, or story, can encounter God, belong to a community, and walk fully in their God given purpose.
How Open Heavens Chapel Began
Open Heavens Chapel Edmonton is a parish of The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), committed to biblical teaching, passionate worship, fervent prayer, discipleship, and community transformation.
These five commitments shape everything that happens within our walls and beyond them. Every message is rooted in Scripture. Every gathering is an invitation to encounter God through worship. Every prayer meeting carries real expectation. Every relationship is an opportunity for discipleship. And every act of service is a step toward seeing our community transformed by the love of Christ. This is not a slogan for us, it is simply how we try to live as a church.

Our Mission
To lead people into a life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ through worship, discipleship, prayer, evangelism, community outreach, and compassionate service.

Our Faith
Statement of Faith
We believe in the Trinity, the authority of Scripture, salvation through Jesus Christ, the ministry of the Holy Spirit, prayer, holiness, evangelism, and the second coming of Christ.
These convictions are not abstract doctrine to us, they are the foundation our community stands on every single day. We worship one God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We hold Scripture as our final authority. We rest entirely in the finished work of Christ for our salvation. We depend on the active presence of the Holy Spirit in our midst. We give ourselves to prayer as a way of life. We pursue holiness as a response to grace, not a requirement for it. We carry the gospel to those who have not yet heard it. And we live with real expectation of Christ's return.

Open Heavens Chapel Edmonton is proudly part of The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), a Pentecostal denomination founded in Nigeria in 1952 and now present in over 190 countries. RCCG's mandate — to have a church within five minutes' walking distance of every person on earth — shapes our own vision for Edmonton and beyond.
Strategic Vision 2026–2030
Focus on discipleship growth, leadership development, family strengthening, community engagement, digital ministry expansion, and local and global missions.
Over these five years, we are not simply planning programs, we are pursuing a deeper kind of church. One where every member is growing as a disciple, not just attending a service. One where new leaders are being raised up with confidence and character. One where families find real strength to face whatever life brings. One where our presence in Edmonton is felt, not just announced. One where technology helps us reach people we could never reach otherwise. And one where our impact reaches well beyond this city, to the nations God has called us to serve.
